A little bit of everywhere
My name is Defnenur Ipek Botsali, but most people know me as Defne :)
I'm a half-Turkish, half-Danish third culture kid who has lived across Turkey, France, Egypt, Denmark, and beyond. That constant movement between cultures, languages, and people didn't just shape who I am, it became the foundation of how I design.
Having navigated radically different cultures, I have learned to question my own assumptions about how people think and behave: a skill I know will help me bridge perspectives between designers, developers, and stakeholders.
I'm passionate about uniting creativity and problem-solving to design real solutions for real people. I love visual craft, but understanding people is equally important to me. Good design starts with listening, really understanding what people need, not just what they say they need. Working directly with all kinds of people taught me that. One of my longer-term goals is to deepen my practice in eco-conception and ethical design.
Outside of work, I love creating some more! I love drawing, writing, playing with clay, designing posters.
I also like going to the cinema, music, making motion design, travelling and learning about marine life. In general I move through life with a lot of curiosity and care for the people around me.
Also, I am always in to learn something new and I learn best by doing, so show me something hands-on and I'm fully in!
